This year again, albeit on slightly different dates, the traditional 6th "Mateo Jukica" Memorial Tournament was held in memory of our Mateo, who left us far too soon.
Once again 12 teams from across the island took part, along with an excellent side from Orebić/Pelješac, last year's winners. With tense and entertaining matches that drew considerable interest from the crowd, with professional referees who this year did their best to keep the boiling emotions in check through better officiating, and with all the accompanying activities, we reached the final — the jewel of the tournament — in which Šimije impressively managed to tame the charge of Antun Rixa and, for the first time in the tournament's history, sing the winners' song as the closing act of this year's edition.

Now we all turn together towards the start of the new season on the big pitch, and part of our thoughts is already on the next memorial tournament, which will return to its usual dates.
